Beautiful skies and cooler weather is making for an amazing week, and a much needed cool down from last week's heat indexes in the upper 90s-100° 🌱🐴

OBX boat manners can make a big difference to wildlife this time of year. Boaters can follow a few common-sense practices to avoid harming marine life:
- Wear polarized sunglasses which help reduce glare and make these animals easier to see, she said. Vessel operators should designate a wildlife spotter to keep an eye out for marine life.
- Keep your boat 50 yards away from them, Doshkov added. If you find yourself less than 50 yards away from them, remember these additional tips.
- Use no-wake speed and put your engine in neutral, don't expect these marine animals to move out of your way, instead, move away from them slowly, she noted. And finally, make sure the animal is a safe distance away before engaging your propeller.

😎 Fishing Report 😎 It was a fabulous week of fishing followed with some good fishing this weekend as well!

🎣 Last week was great surf fishing for Spot, Croaker, Sea Mullet, Bluefish, Spanish, and Pompano. The piers reported lots of fish with plenty of Spot, Croaker, Spanish, Triggerfish, Pinfish, Black Sea Bass, and Cobia. Looks like the Drum have decided to show us as well! This North East wind makes for ideal Drummy conditions!

🐟 The inshore fishing continued to be exciting with good reports of Speckled Trout and Drum. There are lots of Puppy Drum around with plenty of big Drum as well. There have been some Flounder as well, which get us excited for the September season.

🐠 The nearshore and offshore fishing proved to be strong for Mahi fishing! The offshore fleet found plenty of Tunas, Wahoo, and Billfish as well. Many local boats made their way up to Ocean City for the 2025 White Marlin Open. Good luck to all those participating and we look forward to the Alice Kelly and Pirate’s Cove Tournament taking place next week.

Born and raised in Kitty Hawk, Jacob is as local as it gets! He started with us as a busser and worked his way up to serving at both the restaurant and our catering events. 💪
