🌾 The wild horses of Corolla are truly one of the most unforgettable sights on the Outer Banks! This past weekend, the owner of SNH081 - Calypso’s Dream took her Jeep out with some fellow Jeep lovers and spotted several of these beautiful wild horses!

🐎 There are just over 100 wild horses roaming the northern beaches of Corolla and Carova—descendants of Colonial Spanish Mustangs that have called this stretch of the Outer Banks home for centuries. Their herd is carefully managed by the Corolla Wild Horse Fund to protect their health and ensure they continue to thrive in our unique coastal environment.

Trio took it's first group (the OG's) on a sojourn to Tulum, Mexico for some amazing food, drink and inspiration. We ate fancy and we ate simple….and it was all so memorable. The fresh juice mezcals and margs were everything.

We sailed, learned about the Mayan culture and checked out some ruins...we went deep into the jungle to see spider monkeys...and maybe zip line a bit, with a final swim in a cenote. Of course, Mrs. Sharon lead the way, all the way!

We hope to continue these trips with our staff and look forward to sharing our adventures with you!

📰 This just in!...fuzzy, floofy, bitty babies are the sweetest!

Okay, not quite a news flash. But we just had to share. Big thanks to tour guide extraordinaire, Cheryl "Shorty" Short for passing along these sweet shots of baby Finola and Momma Amelia from this afternoon. As you can see, both are nourished and thriving with the return of spring.

Here's a PHENOMENAL video from the Corolla Wild Horse Fund to see, especially as we begin our busiest season.

Please pay particular attention to the part where Meg Puckett, Director of Herd Management educates us on our role in the Banker's lives, "Their habitat also includes us ....so it's very important to remember that if you're coming to the 4x4 beaches, the minute you set foot on the beach, you also become a part of the horses' habitat, and that means you have a responsibility to protect and preserve them."

Also a good time to remind us all to: not approach the horses, maintain at least a 50 foot distance, do not feed or harass the horses and GO SLOW. We are part of the joy and the solution.
