American Wagyu, raised in the U.S. and often crossbred with Angus, offers a tender, flavorful bite with a touch less fat. Kobe steak, a luxurious Japanese Wagyu, comes solely from Tajima cattle in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, raised under strict standards for an unmatched buttery texture and umami depth. Kobe’s rarity and rigorous production make it a premium delicacy.

When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him doing TikTok dances 💃 and vibing to his favorite K-pop hits 🎧
We’re so lucky to have his versatility, and positivity on the team this season!

Employee Spotlight: Hira!
Say hey to Hira, all the way from Istanbul, Türkiye 🇹🇷—currently spending his exchange year here in the U.S., and his second summer in the OBX!
He says he feels like a part-time local, and honestly? We’re claiming him as one of our own 💙 OBX has that effect!
You’ll find Hira working as a bartender and busser at Red Sky, keeping things smooth behind the bar and on the floor. When he's not at work, he’s likely playing the violin (yes, really!) or getting in some good OBX swim time.
Oh, and his favorite drink? The Just Peachy!
We’re so glad he’s part of the team this summer!

Welcome back to Thursday's GREET THE GUIDES, where you'll get a little behind-the-scenes peek at this year's awesome team.

Meet Travis

Travis, of Portsmouth, Virginia, is one of our newest guides. He's a natural fit to the team, offering fun, engaging and informative adventures. Like many of us, Travis' favorite thing about giving tours is the opportunity to drive the beach and observe the beautiful horses, all while sharing the experience with our guests.

When Travis parks the Humvee and is off the clock, he most enjoys spending time with his sons, Dalton and Travis.
"Saturday morning vinyl records of old music over breakfast with my sons," he says, brings him the most joy. "Some scrambled eggs, sausage links and hashbrowns with cheese." He loves to fish and kayak and will, "get a good hour in the gym in the mornings along with a 15 minute sauna session."

We are so grateful to have Travis and his buoyant, open approach to touring as part of our W.H.A.T. all-star line up this year, "Was taught by the best," he adds.
