Create a splash at your next corporate meeting, birthday, bridal shower, or another event by having an animal drop in virtually. Pick which animal ambassador you would like from the following animals: Owl, Sea Turtle, Possum, or River Otters. Once they arrive, the educator will give a brief introduction to the animal, allow your attendees a chance to ask questions and then you can enjoy their animal shenanigans. Make your meeting or event one-of-a-kind with some animal fun! All animal programs are dependent on the availability of our animals. If not available, another option will be provided.

FREE ice cream Friday! Please remember that this is a drive through event from 6-6:30pm. We ask that you come into the Tim Buck 2 shopping center at the Brew Thru entrance and come to the left around the back side of the building to the stairs. We will have a table set up to greet you. **If it is RAINING we will move to the parking garage under our store.** Each car will get 2 pints of our homemade ice cream, a bag of sour gummy worms and a bag of gummy bears.

It's a great day to enjoy lunch at the food truck! Open 11am-2pm.

We tend to hang on to our wait staff for what seems to be decades. It is rare that a spot opens but this being 2020 all normalcy is gone. Here we are mid-October and we are in need of staff.
Wait staff.

1) Experience in a busy restaurant is a must. Serving hot dogs on Coney Island is impressive but not the kind of busy we mean.
2) People skills needed. If you run back to the kitchen and complain that, “table eight needed more ice tea, can you believe it!” or something to that effect for every table, means your fried and don’t need to apply (or wait tables for a least a few months).
3) Be available to work day or night, weekends, and holidays. We are flexible, but requesting Saturdays Sundays and every federal holiday off will not cut it. It may also get you shived by a fellow wait.
4) You must get along with your fellow workers. We have a great staff of friendly people but they will vote you off this “restaurant island” in a heartbeat.
5) A reference will help tremendously. If you left 3 out of the last 4 jobs under a dark cloud chances are it is you not the A$$hole bosses. Bosses who do not understand “you show up late but get your side work done in 10 minutes and that’s why you are on a smoke break so early”. No, it’s you.

According to our Horticulturist, September is the best time to explore in our Pollinator Garden! Right now, there is a huge diversity of butterflies, caterpillars, and other insects. Those who spend time looking can find orange spiky (but harmless) Gulf Fritillary caterpillars on the Passionflower, Giant Swallowtail caterpillars that mimic bird poop on the Hercules Club, and stripey Monarch caterpillars on the Milkweeds... plus a plethora of pollinators visiting the fall blooming flowers.
