"Will we see horses?"

We fully embrace the “adventure” experience of our tours--the thrill of cruising along the beach as frothy waves roll in, catching a glimpse of the dolphins at play, hearing the seagulls calling, even catching the bald eagles nesting—all while our experienced guides offer insightful, fun and intriguing information about the Banker horses.

While our full intent is to locate and enjoy as many horses for our guests as possible, we also recognize that the horses have weathered a long and harsh winter and this time of the year, they're often nourishing their empty bellies on the fresh greens that are beginning to grow in the many acres of property by the sound. To respect both the laws in Currituck County and the sanctuary land around them, we will only drive on public areas.

So, while the guides are willing, knowledgable and dedicated, sometimes the tours need to be enjoyed for the experience: the learning about the horses and their environment, the discovery of the other wildlife that calls Corolla, home....and, of course, being on the beach in one of our awesome humvees 😉

A bit cooler today. Anglers are catching SEA MULLET and NORTHERN PUFFERS. Another fisherman was seen catching a PUPPY DRUM while surf fishing nearby. Air temp 58 degrees, ocean water temp 55 degrees. There's a fresh breeze of 18 knots blowing from the West. High tides 10:11 a.m. and 10:27 p.m. Low tide 4:05 p.m. We have two seperate places to park your bikes here at the Pier!

Each tour day begins with Rob and our talented lot crew performing a 33-point check on all our vehicles for function and safety, assuring our guests a fun, beach bound day of adventure.

A great night upcoming on WOVV (if I do not say so myself). You can listen to fishing songs from 6-8 with Tunes With Teaster, get into the OINC vibe with Gary Mitchell in the 8 o'clock hour then at 9 until it turns to Wednesday with Shoal Searching. The show tonight is jam-packed. I added a new Lucero song (from the Rick and Ben combo) and couldn't find another song to kick to the curb. Fast, slow, fast is the basic run down of the evening. Heavy on Old Heavy Hands. The playlist was made right after they called it a day.

Garage rock, alternative rock, punk and as usual, an excellent closer from a band called Sloan. It's a song about a guy who follows the norms but gets interested in a young lady who does anything but follow the norms. He's challenged and he doesn't know how to handle what's coming at him---or is he just being put off? Do not forget to listen tonight and tomorrow before I arrive for Tuesday night 9-12.
