Fishing Report -- A good handful of bull RED DRUM have been caught and released early this morning with four or five anglers still at it and using 10 ounce sinkers off the end. Big NE swells rolling in with 69 degree ocean water. Winds 26 knots from the north! High tides 6:02 a.m. and 6:28 p.m. Low tide at noon.

This weather is bringing lots of wind but don't fret, there is still plenty to do on the Outer Banks. Take the family out for a tasty bite to eat or travel over to the Roanoke Island Aquarium to take a look at their wonderful creatures. Happening now through October 7: The Ray Matthews Photography Retrospective: A defining Artist of the Outer Banks. A retrospective of his photography is being held at Glenn Eure’s Ghost Fleet Gallery, showcasing his defining artistry of the Outer Banks. A big thank you to the Don & Catharine Bryan Cultural Series for presenting the gallery! At Twiddy & Company, we feel fortunate to have worked with Ray Matthews many times. The Towne Banks Outer Banks Marathon & Half Marathon is right around the corner! The OBX Towne Bank Marathon is the oldest continuously running road race in the Outer Banks! The marathon course is fast and flat, which makes it the perfect place for your first marathon or even your own personal record! Participants will enjoy the gorgeous natural scenery along the course as it twists and turns across the islands of the Outer Banks. Spectators line up to cheer on all the athletes and as you cross the finish line, the party is right there waiting for you! The post-race celebration will feature live music and entertainment, as well as excellent southern barbecue (free for all runners!) and an awesome beer garden for all those 21+.

Beaches Helping Beaches: A luau benefit for Maui is Sunday October 8th at 2:00 p.m.

Bonzer Shack with Kona Big Wave is bringing the community together to help raise funds for Maui disaster relief and recovery. Featuring live music by Hot Sauce, Hawaiian inspired food & drink specials. Mark your calendars. This is a luau you definitely don't want to miss! 100% of donations and proceeds will go directly to United Way Maui.
