Over 100 artists come to Roanoke Island from near and far to help bring The Lost Colony to life each summer. Meet another of these wonderful performers, Ethan Oxendine.

Ethan is a Native American performer from Pembroke, North Carolina. He is Katehnuaka Tuscarora, Snipe Clan. Ethan has had the pleasure of performing and participating in many cultural activities across the U.S and Canada. He has even performed as far as Honolulu, Hawaii! As a traditional dancer and singer, Ethan appreciates the value of storytelling. He is always thankful for the opportunity to teach and share his culture with others. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina of Pembroke, where he earned his degree in Biology. Ethan is excited to return to The Lost Colony in the role of Wanchese!

Hannah Szemereta is an actor, singer, dancer and stunt performer from Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (B.F.A. Acting, 2026). Recent credits include The Moors (Huldey), A Little Night Music (Anne Egerman), The Great Comet of 1812, and Marie Antoinette. Outside of performing, Hannah has a profound passion for Peloton, kitchen dance parties, and Reese cups. She loves her family, the beach, and going on little “adventures”.

Holy Smokes what a pile of work, but this first coat of barrier coat shows a much slicker bottom than I’ve ever seen on this old girl! We’ll have a total of three Sea Hawk barrier coats and some very new updated type bottom paint.

This boat will undoubtedly outlive me, but Lord only knows the work I’ve put in her over the years. They don’t make them like us anymore for good reason, we last too long! Going be very happy to get back to fishing soon! 🎣
