Over 100 artists come to Roanoke Island from near and far to help bring The Lost Colony to life each summer, and here's another of these wonderful performers who will be gracing the sand of the Waterside Theatre all summer!

Hannah Szemereta is an actor, singer, dancer and stunt performer from Raleigh, North Carolina. She is a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (B.F.A. Acting, 2026). Recent credits include The Moors (Huldey), A Little Night Music (Anne Egerman), The Great Comet of 1812, and Marie Antoinette. Outside of performing, Hannah has a profound passion for Peloton, kitchen dance parties, and Reese cups. She loves her family, the beach, and going on little “adventures”.

Holy Smokes what a pile of work, but this first coat of barrier coat shows a much slicker bottom than I’ve ever seen on this old girl! We’ll have a total of three Sea Hawk barrier coats and some very new updated type bottom paint.

This boat will undoubtedly outlive me, but Lord only knows the work I’ve put in her over the years. They don’t make them like us anymore for good reason, we last too long! Going be very happy to get back to fishing soon! 🎣

The horses are shedding the last of their winter coats and the warm temperatures we’re seeing this week have them all very itchy!

Rolling in the sand and dirt is an important part of a horses’ natural grooming routine. It helps them shed all that loose hair, removes other debris and parasites, and helps keep their skin clean and healthy too. In the summer, mud can help with temperature regulation, insects, and UV rays. It also just feels really good to scratch the places they can’t reach themselves and stretch those neck and back muscles out. This stallion was having a nice roll in the sand earlier this week, and we also spotted him using a tree as a scratching post. If you’ve ever met Riptide at the farm or an outreach event, this is his sire.

The Dare County A250 Faire Committee is pleased to announce that the Don and Catharine Bryan Cultural Series will serve as the Entertainment Sponsor for the Dare A250 Faire, taking place on Saturday, April 18, 2026 in historic downtown Manteo!
The Dare A250 Faire will be a full day of community celebration honoring Dare County’s history, culture, and spirit. The event will feature live music and entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, community organizations, family-friendly activities, historical storytelling, and street performers. The day will culminate with the Star-Spangled Spectacular at Roanoke Island Festival Park.

The Dare A250 Faire is free and open to the public.
