Wide Open -- The Pier reopened today along with the nearby N. C. Aquarium on Roanoke Island. The main roads are clear but snow with ice remains on lesser traveled roads. There's no one fishing yet today but the longboard surfing diehards are catching a few on the southside. Water temp 37 degrees, air temp 40. Rain forecasted for later. There's a light West breeze at 4 knots. High tide 8:46 a.m. Low tide 3:19 p.m.

🐴 Topnotch is an aged Banker stallion who was relocated to the farm in November 2025 due to habituation that resulted in him becoming food conditioned and aggressive. Despite years of efforts to discourage both his behavior and the behavior of humans who came in contact with him, by summer 2025, the situation had escalated to the point where he’d become a serious threat to public safety. Now at the farm, Topnotch is doing well and happily sharing a paddock with a senior mare named Blossom. Though Topnotch is in physically good shape for his age, he has complex dietary needs and will require an extensive level of care for the remainder of his life. All proceeds from this raffle benefit the horses on our rescue farm like Topnotch, as well as the wild herd in Corolla.
