On January 27 & 28, at 7 PM Ocracoke Alive will be hosting the Mended Wing Theatre Company with a production of Shakespeare's Hamlet at the Ocracoke Community Center. We will also be sponsoring a free Mended Wing Workshop for community members: Shakespearean Speeches, Acting, and Writing from 1-2 PM on Saturday, January 28 at the Ocracoke Community Center. No registration necessary. Don't miss this event!

Until the end of February, Lost Colony Tavern will be operating on a reduced Winter schedule: Wednesday through Sunday from noon to seven in order to complete a few projects and give our incredible employees a well-earned break. On March 1st, we will return to 11:00-8:00 seven days a week as we launch our month-long Spring event, “The Festival of St. Patrick” featuring the traditional food, beer and music of the Emerald Isle — no green beer or corned beef & cabbage here! In the meantime, drop by throughout February for a hot meal and cold beer right here in Downtown Manteo!

WOW!!! We are humbled beyond belief at the incredible article about Lost Colony Tavern in this week’s edition of The Coastland Times! We are proud to represent the English history of Roanoke Island with the food, beer & spirits of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales here in our little British tavern. We worked very hard in 2022 to create something special for the community, and we have more plans in store for 2023 and beyond. Huge thanks to journalist Summer Stevens, The Coastland Times, and the Town of Manteo for the incredible support as we celebrate our first year in business here at the Manteo Waterfront Marina….CHEERS!!

Greg’s incredible novels & trivia books are available in our retail “Hop Shop” next door to the tavern and at Downtown Books, Manteo’s full-service independent bookseller. It's Burger Night again! Stop by Lost Colony Tavern for a $15 build your own burger! American Wagyu, Irish cheddar cheese, grilled mushrooms and onions, spring mix and HP Mayo is a staff favorite but we've got options for everyone!

Become a cast member for the 2023 season! Come out to Manteo High School on February 25 at 11 a.m. for local auditions with Director and Choreographer Jeff Whiting and team. You will receive an audition time once you have registered. Everyone attending the auditions is requested to bring a recent photograph and resume. Additional information will be collected at the time of registration.

Bird Watcher -- Brian Cole of Burlington, Vt. was pleased to spot a parasitic jaeger while bird watching off the end of the pier this morning. He was also searching for razorbill along the ocean’s horizon. In addition to bird watching along Lake Champlain back home, Cole said he enjoys golfing three days a week during the warm months of summer.
