Brilliant sunshine with blue skies but cold again today. There's a fresh North breeze at 19 knots, which has ocean churning. Air and ocean temperatures are the same -- 36 degrees. Low tide 10:52 a.m. High tide 4:33 p.m. The newly constructed ocean observation platform atop the research shack was completed this week. Various types of scientific equipment will be deployed there, and the space is not open to the public.
