ABOUT JOHN WRIGHT & SANCTUARY VINEYARDS
John Wright is a 7th generation farmer in Currituck County. He established vineyards in 2002 with the help of his family and has expanded Sanctuary Vineyards to nearly 30 acres as of 2021. Sanctuary Vineyards grows vinifera (European style) grapes and produces a diverse blend of dry wines that are distinctive and represent the climate of the Northern Outer Banks. Awarded NC Winegrower of the Year in 2015 and winner of Best in Show 2018 at the NC Fine Wines Competition and Best Wine of NC in 2019, Sanctuary Vineyards is establishing Currituck County as one of the leading sites for premium wines in North Carolina.
