The Mystery of The Lost Colony
Members of The Lost Colony have returned to the Town of Duck’s Amphitheatre for several summer performances of The Mystery of The Lost Colony, sponsored by Carolina Designs. The performances are open to the public and free to attend. The Mystery of the Lost Colony is an interactive children’s performance designed to not only educate young audiences about The Lost Colony, but get them up on the stage marching and dancing!
In just under an hour, Sir Walter Raleigh, Old Tom, Eleanor Dare, Simon Fernando and other characters from The Lost Colony as they tell the story of how Queen Elizabeth I of England sent a colony to the New World and what discoveries, joy and troubles the colonists faced while on Roanoke Island. Young members of the audience will be invited on stage to help tell the story and celebrate the birth of Virginia Dare – even be Queen for the day!
