Damn Jankes
Americana, Alt.Country & Roots Rock. Music starts at 7:45.
Dan Janke, who grew up in the Midwest, writes unapologetically old-fashioned – yet decidedly relevant – music that dwells deep in his memories. With a steady diet of rock ’n roll, pop, country, Memphis blues and Southern rock, his outpourings are a mélange (call it “Kitchen Sink Rock”) of the authentic sounds he grew up on. After playing mainly in Chicago and Indianapolis, Dan relocated to Virginia in 2013 and embarked on assembling a band, ultimately enlisting the tasteful playing of Danny Rosnato on guitar, creative bass work of David Mills, and a steady beat by Randy Reeves on Cajon and percussion. Several of Dan’s songs have had airplay in Indianapolis and Norfolk.
Damn Jankes is an eclectic original/cover band – a “Kitchen Sink” stew of Americana, alt.country, roots rock, rock ’n roll, blues, shuffles, pop, and even a little reggae. We shake and stir it to keep the drinkers drinking and the dancers dancing. Depending on the venue’s needs, we can tailor our sets to be all original or more heavily cover-oriented.
