Wine Tasting: Exploring Australia
Come by for a wine tasting event: Exploring Australia, the Land Down Under!
A Historical Tidbit…. During the early 1700s, Britain shipped convicts to the U.S. colonies. However, after the Revolutionary War, in 1776 that was no longer an option. Australia became the new alternative.
Australian wine history began in 1788 with the arrival of the First Fleet of convicts. While initial attempts struggled, settlers introduced classic European vines in the 1830s, paving the way for the industry’s rise from fortified wines to premium table wines. Wine growing went from early failures to a global powerhouse.
Join us as we delve into the history of the Land of Oz and amazing wines created there from coast to coast.
Our tasting will be on Wednesday, May 13 and again on Saturday, May 16. Both tastings will start at 5 PM and cost $35 per person.
A cheese and charcuterie plate will accompany the wines to enhance your wine experience.
Please be sure to call 252-261-0277 to reserve your seat.
