Big Drum
Some big Drum have shown up on the piers yesterday evening and this morning giving us a new Leader in the Red Drum Tournament! Ellis Shifflett landed a very nice 46.25 inch FL Red Drum yesterday evening on Outer Banks Pier!
Big Drum fishing is a staple of the Outer Banks and now is one of the best times to catch them!
Lots of Bluefish in the surf the last couple of days, we have heard reports of multiple blitzes from Ramp 38 down to Ramp 55. The point seems to be the hot spot with some Drum and Sharks mixed in as well.
Soundside has been a little slower with all of the cold fronts rolling through. There are still plenty of Trout and Drum to be caught, they are just more concentrated and hesitant to bite in these conditions.
The piers are reporting a decent amount of Big Drum, Small Trout, Spot, Seamullet, and scattered Bluefish.
Offshore fishing was excellent before the Blow with boats catching limits of Yellowfin, some Blackfin, Dolphin and the occasional Wahoo. Hopefully fishing offshore continues to heat up as the weather calms back down!
