We hope everyone is out enjoying the beautiful weather and awesome fishing this Labor Day Weekend! We have received good reports from every end of the Outer Banks today!
In the surf anglers are having good luck using Fresh Shrimp and Sand Fleas to catch Sea Mullet, Pompano, and even a few Puppy Drum. Dollie Sloan and her Dad sent us a picture of a really nice Pompano they caught on the first cast of their Vacation using Fresh TWs Shrimp! We have also received reports of good catches of Flounder, Bluefish, Croaker, and Spanish Mackerel. If you are looking for something a little bigger there are plenty of Sharks and Stingrays to go around as well!
Some big King Mackerel are still being caught on the piers from Nags Head all the way down to Avon. There has also been a decent amount of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish caugh on Got-cha plugs in the mornings and evenings as well as Sea Mullet, Croaker, Flounder and Sheepshead being caught on bait throughout the day.
Still plenty of Big Drum, Slot Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and Sheepshead being caught in the sound and around Oregon Inlet. Gold Spoons and Fresh Mullet seem to be the hot bait for the Drum .
Offshore fishing has been hit or miss this weekend. We have heard reports of Some Blackfin, Yellowfin, Wahoo, Dolphin, Sailfish, and a few Blue Marlin. Shop Employee Kyle Berry had a good day on the Miss Hatteras Party Boat Friday catching a Wahoo, some Dolphin and a handful full of Vermillion Snapper!
