Big Trout, Sheepshead, and Puppy Drum
Big Trout, Sheepshead, Puppy Drum, and even some nice Flounder on the sound side this week! Some quality Sheepshead have been caught from the bridges, and just about any substantial structure you can find in the sound. We have live Fiddler Crabs, frozen Sandfleas, and frozen Peeler Crabs in stock, as well as all the jigs and rigs you may need to go out and catch your own trophy Sheepshead!
From the surf, we have received reports of Spot, Sea Mullet, Bluefish, Pompano, and even a few nice Spanish Mackerel! Lane Leisey sent us a photo of a solid keeper Spanish Mackerel he caught from the surf in Kittyhawk on a Stingsilver.
Anglers fishing the local piers have seen catches of Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Spot, Croaker, Sea Mullet, and even a few monster King Mackerel have hit the deck! Summertime pier fishing can be a blast, especially for the young anglers in the family. Stop by the shop and our experienced staff will help get you rigged up for success!
Offshore has been a little spotty recently with a handful of Billfish releases and scattered Tuna and Dolphin catches! The nearshore fleet has been doing very well with catches of Triggerfish, Amberjack, Spanish Mackerel, Ribbonfish, and a few nice Cobia!
