Bigger Class of Sheepshead
The bigger class of Sheepshead has arrived at the Bonner Bridge Pier this week, we have weighed several large fish the last couple days here at the shop. Live Fiddler Crabs and Sand Fleas have been the bait of choice! If you have any questions on getting rigged up to go try your luck for Sheepshead stop in and talk with our staff. We will get you rigged up and give you some pointers to help you be successful!
The local piers here on the northern end of the Outer Banks are reporting decent catches of Spot, Croaker, Flounder, Bluefish, Sea Mullet, and a handful of Spanish Mackerel. There have still been a few nice Cobia sightings from the piers but only a couple small ones have been landed. We haven't heard much from Little Bridge lately other than a few Small Trout and some Small Croaker.
Surf anglers are still getting those quality Puppy Drum and Sea Mullet. We were sent a photo from the Corolla Beach Ladies Fishing Crew of a nice overslot Drum caught up on the 4wd beach. They also reported Sea Mullet, Croaker, and some Small Flounder.
The Tuna fishing offshore is still good, however we are hearing rumors the sharks have arrived...
We received a few pictures from earlier this week of anglers catching Yellowfin Tuna on topwater poppers! Along with the Yellowfin Tuna there has been some scattered Dolphin, Wahoo, and a few Big Eye Tuna landed.
Inshore boats and Kayak anglers have still been finding those Drum on the flats around Oregon Inlet. Not as many Trout the last couple days, but some anglers are still managing to find a few good ones.
