Surf Fishing Report:
Scattered Bluefish on our beaches.

I received lots of questions about the Cobia pictures yesterday. Here are the answers to Cobia fishing.

Cobia, minimum 37 inches FL, private boat harvest allowed Mon/Wed/Sat of two fish per vessel or one per person per day if only one person is on board. Charter vessel harvest allowed 7 days/week, 4 fish per vessel per day or one fish per person per day if fewer than four people are on board. Shore and pier anglers allowed 1 fish per person per day. See Proclamation FF-28-2016, season closes September 30, 2016.

 

The winds are NE at 17 and the water temp is 72 degrees. Water is rough


Sound Fishing Report:

The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported small Trout and Black Drum.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Bluefish and Spanish.

Nags Head: Blues and Sea Mullet.

Jennette’s: Blues.

Outer Banks: A good run of Blues and Spanish.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:

Inshore boats had Red Drum releases, Bluefish and Spanish. Nearshore caught Spanish, Bluefish and Albacore.

 

Offshore Boats Report:
It was another Bigeye day. Lots of citations. They ranged in weight from 159 to 110 lbs. There were citation Wahoo also caught weighing in at 45 and 57 lbs. Yellow fin and a few Dolphin were also caught. There were Marlin and Sailfish releases.
