Surf Fishing Report:
Small bottom fish and small Bluefish.

There are a lot of Spadefish showing up in our pier catches. Spadefish grow up to 36 in. No citations are given for Spadefish. Sometimes they are confused with Sheepshead and Black drum. They can be caught with tiny hooks and shrimp. I have never eaten Spadefish, but I have been told it is a good fish for the table.

The winds are NW at 13 and the water temp is 75 degrees. A few showers this morning early, overcast, waters still calm and clear.

Sound Fishing Report:

The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Trout, Flounder and Black Drum.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Bluefish, Flounder, Pompano and Spadefish.

Nags Head: Slow.

Jennette’s: Spadefish.

Outer Banks: and Perch, Bluefish, Hornytoads and Spadefish.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:

It was a big Red Drum day for inshore and offshore anglers. Lots of citations. Also plenty of Bluefish and Spanish as well as Amberjack and King Mackerel.

Offshore Boats Report:
Another day for great catches of Yellowfin, some Blackfin and a few Wahoo. There was a Blue Marlin release and a Sailfish release.
