Surf Fishing Report:
A few Sea Mullet, Spot and Bluefish north of the Inlet. The Bluefish bite has been good for the last couple of days on the Corolla beaches. Michael Gillen sent in a great picture of his catch. Perfect pan size. And Derrick King fishing with Eamon Flynn (Picture) said they caught about 30.

 

The winds are SW at 13 and the water temp is 64 degrees. Flat, a little murky and chilly water. Another day with the heat index about 104. A break in this heat coming up. Despite the heat it is a beautiful OBX day.


Sound Fishing Report:

The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Slow. A few Bottom fish and small Trout.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Bluefish.

Nags Head: Slow.

Jennette’s: Sand Perch and Bar Jack.

Outer Banks: Sea Mullet Croaker and Spot.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:

Nearshore Anglers caught Spanish, Bluefish and Amberjack. Inshore caught Trout, Amberjack, Stripers and Bluefish. Both inshore and nearshore caught Drum with 7 trophies recorded. Also a 57 lb Cobia and a 9# Sheepshead. The Headboat caught Puffers, Sea Robin, Sea Bass, Spot, Sea Mullet, Gray Trout, Bluefish, Flounder and Pigs and Pins.

 

Offshore Boats Report:
The offshore fleet returns to shore with their boxes filled with Tilefish and Dolphin. Both Dolphin and Tilefish were limited out. One Yellowfin was also caught. There were 13 Sailfish releases and 2 Marlin and 2 White Marlin.

The Pirates Cove Annual Billfish Tournament began yesterday. It was a great start. There were a 180 Billfish caught. 62 boats fishing.
