Yesterday was a cold rainy day. Not good for surf fishermen but great for March Madness fans.
No fishing news this morning. Now is a good time to add some ORV news for our upcoming Easter visitors. There is a change to report in purchasing ORV permits. The temporary trailers have been removed and you will now buy the ORV permits from the visitor centers at the Bodie Island Lighthouse, the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and on Ocracoke Island. They are open seven days a week from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
There are two types of permits: 7-day/$50 permits (valid from the date issued) and
Annual/$120 permits. The 2016 annual permit will be valid from the date of purchase through Dec 31, 2016.
You can also get your annual and weekly permits on line. NPS has recently made it so you can print it out, tape it to the inside of your window until you receive the original one.
