In Summary:

 

Surf Fishing Report:

We had torrential rains yesterday and thunder and lightning that would move you away from the windows. We have also had early morning rain today. So the piers are having a slow start. Anglers worked around the rain yesterday and caught Flounder, Bluefish and some small Croakers, Sea Mullet and Spot.

 

The winds are SW at 12 and the water temp is 62 degrees. Scattered thunder storms, flat glassy ocean.

 

Sound Fishing Report:

The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported throwback Trout and bottom fish.

 

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Slow.

Nags Head: Slow.

Jennette’s: Croaker, Sand Perch, Bluefish, Sea Mullet and Spot.

Outer Banks: Slow.

 

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:

Nearshore caught and released Red Drum, had a good amount of Spanish and Bluefish. Inshore anglers caught Trout, Flounder and plenty Stripers.

 

Offshore Boats Report:
The fleet managed to work around the tough thunderstorms yesterday and caught a fair number of Yellowfin, Blackfin and Big-eyes. Another monster 200 lb Big-eye was caught. There were also Blue Marlin, White Marlin and Sailfish releases.
