Surf Fishing Report:
A smorgasbord of fish was caught on Hatteras Island Sunday depending on where you were fishing.  Bluefish, Sea Mullet, Pompano, Puppy Drum. Sheepshead at the Jetties. I’m getting lots of questions via e-mail about Sheepshead.  Sheepshead are caught close to pilings and jetties. They travel in schools. They are not easy to catch because they take small bites. You need to use small hooks and bait so they will take the hook. Sand fleas are the choice bait in this area, but they will bite on other bait such as fiddler crabs, mullet and shrimp. With the bigger bait, you have to make sure the point of the hook is in the bait. The Oregon Inlet catwalk usually produces some nice Sheepshead.

From this side of the Bridge, scattered Bluefish.

The winds are NW at 9 and the water temp is 61 degrees. Cool morning, rain in the forecast. Waters clear and calm.  Looking good for the next 3 days.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway is catching lots of small Trout.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Good Trout bite.

Nags Head: Good Blues and Spanish fishing.

Jennette’s: Blues, Sea Mullet and Spanish.

Outer Banks: Bluefish, Sea Mullet, Spanish and Rockfish.

It looks like a good pier day for all the piers

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
Inshore caught Sea Mullet and Trout.

Offshore Boats Report:
Bluewater had another good Dolphin Day catching their limits. There were also Yellowfin and Blackfin. 4 White Marlins and 1 Sailfish releases.
