Surf Fishing Report:
Yesterday was a scorching day and more of the same today. Ramp 38 reporting Pompano and Sea Mullet. Buxton had Sea Mullet and some Spanish. Further south was slow going and the same for the beaches north of the inlet. There was a report of a Pompano caught in Nags Head yesterday and that is the first Pompano I have heard on our beaches. The water is so cold I would not have expected that at this time. You never know.
Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported slow but the crabbing is great.
Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Slow.
Nags Head: a couple of Blues and a Spot.
Jennette’s: Spot, Black Sea Bass and Croaker.
Outer Banks: Had a good run of 1-2 lb Bluefish yesterday on artificial lures. Lots of Crabs this morning.
Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
There were King Mackerel, Albacore caught nearshore and trolling boats decked Spanish, and Bluefish. Inlet boats caught some Sheepshead, Blues, Stripers and Trout. Sound boats caught some decent Trout yesterday.
Offshore Boats Report:
Offshore returned to the docks with Mahi, plenty Tilefish for the bottom fishermen and Blackfin. Also a Sailfish release. Not many boats sailed yesterday.
The winds are SW at 12 and the water temp is 64 degrees. Mostly sunny, flat and glassy surf, breezy.
