Dogfish and Skates

Unfortunately, we are not seeing similar surf fishing conditions that we had this time last year. Rather than Puppy Drum and Trout, we’re hearing reports of mostly Dogfish and Skates.
On the sound side, anglers are finding lots of Trout! The Puppy Drum fishing has been lacking more than usual, but the Trout catch is making up for it! Barrett is back at it and catching Stripers in the Albemarle Sound! He’s obviously having a fun winter break!
King Mackerel fishing was killer for the offshore boats down in Hatteras but now it’s Tuna time. We hear that boats went out today so it will be interesting to see if they come back to the socks with anything!
It’s also hunting season here and we are hearing the duck hunting has been reasonable for some hunters. Deer hunters are still having luck as well. Check out Parker Overton’s 8 pointer!!! ? Go Parker!
