We have seen a great week of fishing. Surf fishing seems to be heating up with reports of Red Drum being caught from some of the piers and the beaches around Oregon Inlet along with some really nice sized Bluefish. Mr. Vega himself Luis had this jumbo 8 lb Bluefish off the beach near the inlet. We just got a fresh batch of his Vega Rods in the store so come check them out! Surf and pier anglers are also catching some Spanish, Sea Mullet, Spot and a few Trout.
Inshore catches continue to be really good drum fishing, boat and kayaks reporting several nice drum schools on the west side of the bridge at Oregon Inlet. A good class of trout further west in the sound, we've submitted several Trout release citations this week! Bottom fishing with mullet continues to be productive for the bigger sized drum. Sheepshead continue to be scattered around the bridges and some of the many artificial reefs in the area.
Offshore report has been scattered Billfish, Dolphin, Wahoo, some Blackfin Tuna and there's been some good Tilefish again.
Fall fishing is just around the corner and the past few days have certainly given us a tease of what's to come! We have fresh mullet, shrimp and bloodworms. Don't forget we have Buy Two Get One Free on Shimano Stradic and Sedona reels, this deal won't last long so time to get that new trout reel for the fall. We hope everyone has a chance to get out there this weekend!
