Fall Fishing continues to not disappoint! Plenty of Trout and Drum in the surf and in the sound, Yellowfin Tuna biting good offshore, Big Drum on the piers, and plenty of fresh Mullet!
In the surf north of Oregon Inlet we have received reports of Drum of all sizes, some nice Speckled Trout, lots of small Bluefish, Sea Mullet, Spot, Blowtoads, and Black Drum. South of Oregon Inlet, and down towards Hatteras, anglers have been reporting lots of Bluefish including some up to 10+lbs! Along with the Big Bluefish there has been Red and Black Drum, Sea Mullet, Spot, Sheepshead and a few Pompano.
Much like the reports from the surf, the fishing piers are reporting Drum, Bluefish, Trout, Sea Mullet, and Spot. There was a handful of Big Drum caught during yesterday's cold front from each of the piers, hopefully they stick around a couple more weeks!
Soundside continues to see spectacular Drum and Trout fishing. Boaters, Kayakers, Wade fisherman, and even those confined to the Little Bridge have had success the last few days with Trout and Drum. There have also been reports of Bluefish and Sea Mullet by those bait fishing in the sound!
Offshore fishing has been very good the last couple of days with some boats catching their limits and heading in early! Lots of Yellowfin, Blackfin, Dolphin, Wahoo, and even a few Bigeyes!
