We hope you had a wonderful holiday season! Now that Christmas and New Years are behind us, we’re that much closer to fishing heating back up.
The new year has brought some fish along with it. Bluefin have been caught by the offshore boats this past week. Our friends on the Afishionado have been in the bite recently!
Lately, the sound has seen a mixed bag even with these cold waters. There has been reports of Speckled Trout, Drum and Stripers. Most people have had luck using Paul Browns and Mirrolures.
When the weather cooperates there has still been some fish to catch in the surf, mainly between Buxton and Hatteras. There have been some Puppy Drum, Black Drum and we even heard of a Sheepshead being caught. And of course this time of year you will probably weed through a lot of dogfish to get to the meat.
As we continue through January, we’re seeing a lot of camo head out early in the morning. Depending on the day and conditions, some hunters are finding some ducks.
