Good Soundside Fishing for Drum

Offshore from Oregon Inlet
Inshore from Oregon Inlet
Corolla to Nags Head Piers
Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

We hope you’re still enjoying the dog days of summer! Even with the effects of Tropical Storm Debby, anglers are still getting out and catching fish!

There have been reports of some Drum, Croakers, and Bluefish being caught from the piers. In the surf, there have been handfuls of Sea Mullet, Spot, and Croaker. We’re hoping the sun will make an appearance this weekend and hopefully improved fishing conditions!

It’s been good soundside fishing for Drum! Boats and anglers are also catching Speckled Trout, Bluefish, and Sheepshead. Check out Reid with his Trout caught on a live Mullet in the sound! While nearshore fishing has been slower we are still hearing reports of  Ribbonfish and Drum.

Offshore has been productive with reports of Wahoo, Dolphin, and Tunas. Lots of local boats are fishing for Blue Marlin in Ocean City at the White Marlin Open! We look forward to their safe return for the 35th Annual Alice Kelly Memorial Tournament and the Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament next week!
