Good Spanish Macrel
It's hard to beat the fishing in May! Cobia, Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Big Bluefish, Speckled Trout Tuna, and more!
Monday was an awesome day for Ryan Rhodes. He landed a monster cobia from his kayak just off the beach! We have heard good reports from yesterday and today of cobia north and south of Oregon Inlet! Along with the cobia, the Inshore fleet has seen good Spanish Mackerel fishing and a few Drum.
From the surf, there has been good drum fishing down south on Hatteras Island south beaches. Bob and Dan sent us some pictures of a 43" Drum and 38" Drum they caught on metal south of Buxton! Along with the drum, there have been quite a few Big Bluefish caught. Here on the northern beaches, we have had reports of Sea Mullet, Puppy Drum, Bluefish, a few Speckled Trout, and Stingrays.
On the sound side, there has been Drum, Speckled Trout, Bluefish, and a few Sheepshead around the bridges.
The piers had a good run of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish yesterday morning and evening on Got-cha Plugs.
Offshore, there was a good showing of Dolphin yesterday with a handful of nice Tuna caught. Plenty of Blue Marlin being seen and caught as well!
