It was one of those classic winter days when January surprised us with 60-degree weather and the fish were absolutely biting. Warm temps and good conditions meant one thing… Bluefin Tuna. (January 9, 2026)
The Fish Casket Crew from Ahoskie, NC stopped by the shop that day to weigh their Bluefin after a long fight just a mile off the beach, tipping the scales at 220 lbs dressed. An unforgettable January moment. Congrats @fishcasket 🐟
It was a solid stretch with plenty of boats getting out when weather windows allowed and getting in on the action. Always a reminder of how good January fishing can be on the OBX.
