Saturday Fishing Report
We hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year! Winter time fishing has fired off the last few days, and the forecast for the next few days looks great! The cold front we had last week flushed loads of Puppy Drum and Trout out of the sounds and down the beach near each of the Inlets. Along with the Puppy Drum and Trout, there has been a fair amount of keeper Black Drum being landed from the surf. Anglers have been using jig heads and soft plastics, as well as fresh shrimp for bait!
On the sound side, things have been a little slower with the colder water temps. On the western side of the sound, there are still plenty of Trout being caught, and fortunately, there was no cold stun reported yet from the freeze last week!
Offshore, fishing has been very good! Yellowfin Tuna out of Oregon Inlet, Blackfin Tuna, and King Mackerel out of Hatteras inlet. Tony Corbo and his crew had an awesome day Wednesday catching some quality Blackfin all on Jigs. Don't let this weather window slip away, get out there and FISH!
