Lots of Puppy Drum This Week
It’s been a cold start to 2025 here on the Outer Banks! Now that we’ve had our fun with our epic SnOBX day, we’re ready for Spring and warmer weather!
There have been lots of reports of Puppy Drum this week! Extending from north of Kitty Hawk all the way down to Ocracoke, the Puppy Drum are plentiful! Anglers have been having good luck on jigs and soft plastics as well as shrimp from both the surf and Jennettes Pier! Finn Brophy has been getting after the fish with a bunch of nice Puppy Drum from the surf and even a Trout earlier today!
Offshore, there have been a couple of good days of Bluefin Tuna action with multiple boats reporting double-digit bites of fish of all sizes! Our friend Justin and his wife and their friends had an incredible catch on Saturday! Weighing in over 900lbs and measuring just at 114inches, they spent their day reeling in this epic fish!
With the cold spell behind us, fishing should only continue to improve as Spring approaches!
