We have a new Leader in the TW’s Coastal Angler Series Tournament for the Bluefish category! Greg Erwin landed a monster 34.5 inch Bluefish on cut mullet. There have been a bunch of big Bluefish being caught this week! We weighed one last night that was 8.5lbs caught just south of Jennette’s Pier! Brian Bennnett caught a nice one at the Point as well. It’s not too late to enter the TW’s Coastal Angler Series, the tournament runs through the end of October. You can enter the whole series or if you just want to enter a tournament for a single species that works too! Stop by the shop for more details or to sign up.

As we’ve seen with the recent Bluefish bite, surf fishing has improved quite a bit over the last few days. We got reports of a good Sea Mullet bite along the beaches around Kill Devil Hills this morning. We’ve also received reports of nice Puppy Drum in the area as well. Dalton Smith caught a 32incher in Nags Head yesterday evening off of fresh Mullet he bought earlier from the shop. Shop employee Jaden helped a new angler catch a Drum just south of Outer Banks Pier.

Soundside fishing has been steady as well! There continues to be decent Trout from Kitty Hawk Bay down around Oregon Inlet. Nice sized Bluefish are being caught inshore too! @saltywatersobxfishing caught some keepers on his trip yesterday. @rrhotography got in the Trout action on the kayak with awesome results as well!
