Some monster Speckled Trout have been weighed in the last few days! Tripp Phillips from Absolut Charters weighed in a 10.5lb 31inch fish, and Lawrence Benner took the lead in our Trout Tournament with an 8.47lb fish! Along with the good Trout fishing, anglers on the sound side are still finding plenty of Drum on the flats and Bluefish just about everywhere!

From the surf, we have had reports of Puppy Drum, Speckled Trout, Bluefish, and plenty of Sea Mullet here on the northern beaches. Shop Employee Jeff Honeycutt and his wife Stephanie were catching Sea Mullet two at a time in Kill Devil Hills yesterday afternoon! Down south on Hatteras Island, there have been reports of Big Drum from the point, as well as some nice Pompano starting to show up on the sound beaches.

The piers this morning were reporting good catches of Sea Mullet, some small Speckled Trout, and a few Bluefish. The water is clearing up and warming up with the onshore winds, so we expect the Spanish and Bluefish bite should pick back up!

Offshore fishing has been good the last few days. Boats fishing the Hatteras Village Offshore Open had great Marlin fishing! Chris Gornell and crew of the Fin Planner who are members of the TW's Trusted Captains program won Most releases! Plenty of Yellowfin Tuna and Dolphin have been brought to the dock by the charter fleet as well!
