Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

The last few days have been pretty good fishing! Most fish are still being caught primarily in the sound, but surf fishing will continue to improve especially if the wind cooperates. Today and tomorrow will be a little windy, however the weekend should shape up to be good with promising conditions.

Capt. Ryan Rhodes has found some big Trout in the sound this week on his kayak! Meanwhile, this morning, Mikey Sabadic caught a 6lb 6oz citation 27” Speckled Trout in the sound! Anglers are also catching Stripers and Drum in the sound too. We’re also still hearing reports of Catfish being caught pretty regularly.

In addition to the good Trout bite in the sound, we’re also hearing reports of a few showing up in the surf here in Nags Head. We’ve also gotten reports of nice Bluefish and Drum. @reelisticfishingcharters has had nothing short of some good fishing lately catching some nice Drum and Blues the last few days. Around the southern parts of the island, there are reports of Sea Mullet and Blowtoads in Rodanthe and Avon. Red Drum, Black Deum, Bluefish, and Sea Mullet are being caught in Hatteras and Ocracoke.
