Plenty of Sharks
The warm weather we experienced this week gave us a small taste of spring with some excellent fishing! Jay Cooper sent us a picture of a Big Drum he caught the day before yesterday, he wouldn't tell us exactly where he caught it, except that it was somewhere south of Avon... We heard good reports of Puppy Drum, Black Drum, and a few Blow Toads to the south near Hatteras, and also, there are plenty of Sharks around the point in Buxton.
On the sound side, there has been some very good Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum fishing on the western side of the Pamlico, and there are still reports of keeper Striper being caught around the bridges!
While commercial Bluefin season may have come to a close there are still plenty of giants out there to catch and release as well as smaller slot size fish. We have also heard good reports of Blackfin out of Hatteras.
