The Puppy Drum fishing has been very good the last couple of days, plenty of fish from the surf, up and down the beach. Christine Stader sent us photos of some really nice Slot Drum her family caught just south of the Oregon Inlet Campground on Ramp 4 over the weekend! Along with the Drum we have heard reports of Bluefish, Sea Mullet, Black Drum, Puffers, and small Trout.
On the sound side the Speckled Trout fishing continues to heat up. Some decent fish have been landed from the soundside ramps between Rodanthe and Buxton by anglers wade fishing. The Little has also continued to produce some nice Trout and is a good spot to try when the weather is not so nice. There are still plenty of Drum and Bluefish in the sound as well!
Pier fishing has been where most anglers have had to spend there time recently with all of the bad weather and rough surf. Those who have ventured out to the piers the last couple of days have been reporting Puppy Drum, Black Drum, Bluefish, Spot, Sea Mullet, and small Speckled Trout.
Not much to report from offshore. However, if conditions permit and the fleet can make it out, this time of year can produce some of the best Tuna fishing!
DONT FORGET, this Saturday the 19th is our annual Oyster Roast and we will be presenting the prizes for the Fall Trout Tournament! Lots of action left in the Coastal Angler Tournament Series so be sure to stop in and sign up!
