Ready for the Spring Bite
As we near closer and closer to Spring, it is clear that anglers are scouting for honey holes in hopes of a good Spring bite. There seems to be decent action in the sound with reports of Trout, Stripers and a few Puppy Drum. @mott_ridge_charters had a few successful inshore trips this week when the weather cooperated. @alexrichnc Barret caught some nice Stripers while in their secret spot! @obxpreston and @twitch_carolina also got in the action last weekend!
Surf fishing continues to be mostly Skates and Dogfish, but @ariana.b3nn landed herself a nice Puppy Drum! We’re keeping our fingers crossed for better weather on the horizon, which should hopefully kick start some better surf fishing! We have heard reports of some fish showing up on the southern beaches and Ocracoke, but hopefully the fish will make their way further north sooner than later.
We would also be remiss not to mention the devastating loss to our fishing community this week. We send our deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Charlie Griffin, his dog Leila, and Chad Dunn. We send our thoughts and prayers to those seeking comfort after this profound and tragic loss.
