It has been a beautiful week on the Outer Banks! Luckily, there hasn’t been a lack of fish!

Surf fishing has been productive for your typical bottom fish that we often catch this time of year. Spot, Croaker, and Sea Mullet have been popular catches with some Bluefish, Puppy Drum, and Pompano mixed in as well. Late evening shark fishing on the beaches is picking up. Small Blacktips all the way to nice sized Tiger and Bull sharks are been caught and released recently.  Piers have had similar reports with lots of Sea Mullet, Spot, Bluefish, Triggerfish, and Albacore as well.

Fishing in the sound has been good for Drum, Speckled Trout, and Bluefish. We’re still hearing reports of Sheepshead around the bridges. Nearshore boats are catching Bluefish, Spanish, and Ribbonfish.

The offshore fleet have been catching Blue and White Marlin, Dolphin, Tunas, and scattered Wahoo. Lots of local boats are in VB for their tournament! Good luck to our friends fishing this weekend!
