Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

Since not many fish are being caught due to the current weather conditions, we are reminiscing about the fish that were caught this time last year and a few caught before this windy and cold weather came through!

Unfortunately, there’s not much going on right now on the ocean side. Strong winds and a swell around 6ft forecasted for most of the workweek. The weekend, however, is shaping up to be decent,  with westerly winds and diminishing swell. We should start seeing Speckled Trout, Shad, Puppy Drum, and Blow Toads in the surf within the next week or so.

Soundside fishing has been the main attraction lately, with anglers finding a few nice Speckled Trout and the occasional Puppy Drum. We have also heard the Shad have begun to show up on the Little Bridge, so the Trout won’t be far behind!

While the wind blows over the next few days, it’s a good time to stop by the shop and check out all of the latest additions to our tackle selection as well as all of or latest clothing designs and spring linups from the top brands in the industry!
