The ocean calmed down and the Speckled Trout finally showed up! We even have a new Leader in the Fall Trout Tournament portion of the TW's Coastal Tournament Series! William Wright from Currituck caught a 4.35lb Speckled Trout down near Hatteras to take the lead!
In the Surf we are getting reports of good Trout fishing, mostly smaller fish but there has been some big ones mixed in. Jennifer Lawson stopped by the shop this morning to weigh in a 4.25lb Trout she caught in the surf! Along with the Trout we are still getting reports of Big Drum, Puppy Drum, Sea Mullet, Bluefish, Flounder, and Spot.
Anglers fishing on the piers have had good luck with Big Drum yesterday and today. We heard reports of nearly 30 Citation size Drum being caught on a couple of the piers yesterday!
There has also been plenty of Bluefish, Sea Mullet, Spot, and small Speckled Trout.
Fishing in the sound remains steady with Drum of all sizes and plenty of nice size Trout! Zach and his girlfriend Georgia had an awesome day with Captain Ben Morris from Salty Waters OBX today. They caught a limit of Trout and some nice Drum!
