Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

Quick tournament update, with less than a week to go, last night Trystan Beacham weighed in a new leading Spanish Mackerel at 3.36 lb! We still have not weighed in a cobia for the tournament ,o there is still plenty left out there to win!
Fishing has been phenomenal this week, from big Trout in the sound, good reports of Dolphin and Tuna offshore. Afishionado Charters had a great day on the Tuna yesterday and loaded up on the Dolphin Thursday! The Fin Planner crew had some issues with sharks the other day but managed a few nice Big Eye Tuna and some Yellowfin. We have also heard some reports of good bottom fishing offshore with a few Grouper being caught.
Inshore the Trout bit has been very good. Anglers have been consistently landing citation size fish more often this year than we have seen in quite some time. The Drum fishing on the sound side has also been good for those sightcasting the schools on the flats. There also been plenty of Bluefish reported, with some folks catching them on topwater!
Surf fishing has been decent this week. Good reports of Sea Mullet, Bluefish, Spot, Puppy Drum, Flounder, and even a few Cobia have been caught! Down south, we are still getting reports of Big Drum occasionally as well as some decent size Pompano.
The piers have seen some very good Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish fishing at first and last light using Got-cha plugs. We also heard there were a couple of Cobia caught from Jennettes Pier yesterday. Those bottom fishing have been catching Sea Mullet, Spot, and Sand Perch. Down at the Bonner Bridge Pier folks are still having good luck on Sheepshead near the pilings, we have also received reports of Bluefish, Black Drum, and a few small Striper from the Bonner Bridge Pier.
