Tricky Time for Fishing

Inshore from Oregon Inlet
Corolla to Nags Head Piers
Corolla to Nags Head Surf
Corolla to Nags Head Sound

September is a tricky time for fishing. It’s all about finding out where to go depending on conditions and having the right bait and tackle!

Most of the Trout and Drum have been south of the inlet. North of inlet has been a slow pick with the occasional nice Trout and a few Drum. This time of year, most of the fish are migrating which is why we’re seeing such phenomenal catches particularly at the piers. It’s been good Drum fishing from the piers so hopefully you’ve been able to get in on the action. There have been some Bluefish and plenty of sharks mixed in as well.

This storm will set us back a little with rougher than usual conditions, but after it clears there is sure to be excellent beach fishing and inshore fishing. The Drum have been enjoying the conditions so there have been some Drum caught from the surf as well.

While the offshore fleet is looking at too rough of conditions the next few days, it should provide our inshore boats plenty of availability and optimal opportunity to get you in on the Drum and Trout.
