TW's Daily Fishing Report. 10/11/14
The wind is SW at 5 and the water temp is 70 degrees. We have small swells this morning. The ocean is pretty flat.
Action is on the slow side. Bottom fish should be caught from deeper sloughs.
Sheepshead are biting at the Nags Head pier this morning. Haven’t heard a lot about Sheepshead this year, not even from the Oregon Inlet Bridge. Sheepshead are caught close to pilings and jetties.
They travel in schools. They are not easy to catch because they take small bites. You need to use small hooks and bait so they will take the hook. Sand fleas are the choice bait in this area, but they will bite on other bait such as fiddler crabs, mullet and shrimp. With the bigger bait, you have to make sure the point of the hook is in the bait.
