Surf Fishing Report:
There was some excitement at ramp 55 when a 28 lb, 42 inch Cobia was caught. There were also some Drum, Pompano and Croakers reported from the beach. We have Croakers and Sea Mullet on our north beaches. Scott Vinson fished the Jetties on Wednesday. He caught 19 Flounder, all 12 to 14 in and 4 keeper Flounder, Trout, Bluefish, Pigfish, 1 Spanish, Sea Bass, one Drum. The Founder are out of season until Aug 16th. All the fish caught were released.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported catching Trout, Drum and bottom fish.

Pier Fishing Report:
Avalon: Mullet.
Nags Head: Bluefish, Croaker, a small Puppy Drum and Mullet.
Jennette’s: Spot and Bluefish.
Outer Banks: Bluefish on lures, Croaker and Sea Mullet.

Inshore Boats/nearshore Report:
The nearshore and Inlet boats caught Spanish, Rbbonfish and Dogfish. I also heard one boat ran into a school of Red Drum.

Offshore Boats Report:
It was a tough day with the fleet running from storms all day. Apart from that they had a good Dolphin day catching their limits. They caught some Yellowfin and Tilefish.

The winds are W at 5 and the water temp is 72 degrees. Sunny, light winds, flat and murky.
