Surf Fishing Report:

It was a scorcher yesterday and will be again today. Sea Mullet and Bluefish are scattered on the beaches.  

We have SW winds at 7 and the water temp is 72 degrees. The water is flat and clear.

 

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported small Trout and bottom fish.

 

Pier Fishing Report:

Avalon: Spanish, Blues, Mullet and Spot.

Nags Head: Blues and Spanish. Caught a 9.5 # Bluefish yesterday.

Jennette’s: Bluefish, Sea Mullet.

Outer Banks: Bluefish. Water temp is 75 degrees.

 

Inshore Boats/Nearshore Report:
Near shore anglers caught Triggers, Spanish and Amberjacks. The inshore fleet caught King Mackerel, Spanish, Sharks and Cobia.

Douglas Haber said Sheepshead were biting on the east side of Oregon Inlet Bridge yesterday. The bait of choice was sand fleas and fiddler crabs


Offshore Boats Report:
Despite the heat, the charter boat captains limited out on Dolphin and Yellowfin, few citations. There were billfish releases.
