Surf Fishing Report:

Fishing was slow on the beach yesterday. Lots of sand blowing. A few bottom fish in the surf. Stephen Miller caught a Trigger fish yesterday from the surf.

The Spadefish are showing up in our pier catches. Spadefish grow up to 36 in. No citations are given for Spadefish. Sometimes they are confused with Sheepshead and Black drum. They can be caught with tiny hooks and shrimp. I have never eaten Spadefish, but the guys at the store tell me it is a good fish for the table.

The wind is SE at 11 and the water temp is 65 degrees.

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Trout and Croaker.

Pier Fishing Report:

Avalon: Mullet & Spot.

Nags Head: Blues.

Jennette’s: Mullet, Spot and a Gray Trout.

Outer Banks: Mullet.

Inshore Boats/Nearshore Report:
Boat fishermen trolling for Bluefish and Spanish continue having good luck outside the Inlet and a short distance off shore along the beach. They also caught Amberjack yesterday. Nearshore caught Hammerhead Shark and Cobia. The headboat reported Croaker, Sea Mullet and Spot.

Offshore Boats Report:
The Yellowfin were plentiful, good catches of Dolphin, some Wahoo. There was a 500 lb Blue Marlin Release.
