Surf Fishing Report:

Wednesday was just a scorching hot day. Fishing continues to be slow from the surf. We have the summer time green algae type grass hanging on the bottom of the ocean. The kind you cannot shake off but have to manually pull off of your rod. We need a good NE wind to clean up the ocean.

We have SW winds at 8 and the water temp is 66 degrees as reported from the pier end of S. Army corps of Engineers Research Pier in Duck.

 

Sound Fishing Report:
The Little Bridge on the Nags Head/Manteo causeway reported Trout, Stripers and Croaker. There was a 19 in Trout caught yesterday.

 

Pier Fishing Report:

Avalon: Small Bluefish.

Nags Head: Spot and Blues.

Jeannette’s: Blues, Specks, Gray Trout, Pinfish, Pigfish and Spot.

Outer Banks: Croaker, Sea Mullet and Spot.

 

Inshore Boats/Nearshore Report:
Near shore and inshore boats are catching a tremendous amount of Ribbonfish. There were 3 Cobia caught inshore with some Trout. The inlet boats are catching a smorgasbord of Sea Robin, Puffers, Sea Bass, Croaker, Bluefish, Flounder, Gray Trout and Sea Mullet.


Offshore Boats Report:
Dolphin are plentiful, a good amount of Yellow fin and some Black fin, Wahoo and Bonita were caught yesterday. There were White Marlin releases as well.
